Laurel is hosting a potluck breakfast after Mysore class this Sunday morning (10/1). This will be a good chance to catch up with everyone including Amy and Tom who are in town for a few days. Bring something to eat or drink if you can but if you can’t, come anyways. Starting about 9:30 AM, 505 Mountain View Avenue.
Just to let everyone know that although we have two teachers in the morning, they won’t be both present during the entire time of class.
Adarsh will always be there from the beginning till the end and Heleen will be present depending on the amount of students practicing at the time.

Ken and I just came home from a rehearsal of “Dessa Rose.” This dramatic musical from TheatreWorks is incredible. We were invited to a rehearsal: no lights, no costumes, few props: and it was fabulous. We were both in tears by the end, as was much of the cast!
Dessa Rose is the story of a black woman and a white woman in the South in the 1840’s, and how they learn to accept each other. Previews are October 4, 5 and 6, Opening night is October 7, and the play runs through October 29 at the Mountain View Center for Performing Arts. More info at http://www.theatreworks.org/06_07_Dessa-Rose.htm.
We strongly recommend that you see this show. It is really a strong, emotional, vibrant, and moving story. And of course, with TheatreWorks, the production will be excellent.

Amy emailed me this:
Hello everyone from the big D (that’s Dallas if you didn’t already know). I am planning to come for a visit to the area next week and will be at yoga on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. I would love to see you all, as I have been missing everyone so much. I was thinking that maybe we could all get together for breakfast after Sunday’s practice.
I have found a great studio here, but it is a bit of a distance for me and they only have evening practice. That is hard to get used to after practicing in the morning for so many years. Well, I guess we used to practice at night all of the time. They don’t have a huge Ashtanga following, but there are some die hards. Right now we only have one mysore class a week and the rest are led primary series. A group is lobbying for more, and I think the owners and teachers are amenable to the change. For me, since I can’t really practice second yet until my shoulder heals more, the lead primary isn’t so bad. At least the two teachers are both skilled and nice.
See you next week, Amy
