Just to say that I’ll be bring chocolate cake to share after Lizzies last class on Thursday…anyone want to bring something a little more healthy in to balance that up?

Hi all,

Dave and I will be trading off shooting mornings this week. Then, after the week, we’ll see where we’re at.

I’ll be ongoingly uploading my pix as they’re being shot here.

Some are fantastic. Some are cute. Some catch, well, awkward moments and there was a fantastic moment just before or after that unfortunately ended up unuseably blurred. But all catch y’all in your real-life yogi/ni gorgeousness. ;0)

7/26 Update: Pix from Monday 7/24 and today, Thursday 7/27 are also up now. Yes, per Dave’s posting, we’d love to know which ones stand out to you as images you think would be good in a calendar. Some of the gorgeous close ups Dave shot Wed. inspired me to try to do some more close ups today.

Antonia and Dave have become inspired to capture some images of what goes on in morning mysore ~ not the perfectly posed postures by superyogis with smiles and no sweat that you see in Yoga Journal, but the real nitty-gritty essence of the practice as done by ordinary yogi/nis, showing up on the mat.

From these images, they would like to create a calendar to make available to the entire YiY community.

In order to do this, they will need to take photos during several mysore classes, and perhaps a Friday lead class as well. Those who do not want their photo taken will be able to opt out. Starting today, Sunday July 23, there will be a form next to the class sign in sheet where you will be able to to opt in or out of the project.

There will be a “Welcome Party” at the studio for Adarsh and Heleen on Saturday July 29 from 5 to 7pm with tasty South Indian vegeterian food. A & H will start teaching their first Mysore-Style class at YiY the next day, Sunday July 30, so this will be a chance to meet them beforehand.

It will also be an opportunity to say goodbye and thank you to Lizzie for teaching in the past few months.

UPDATE: Lizzie won’t be able to make to this event. There is a special breakfast for her Thursday though. Her last (for now) class at YiY will be on Thursday July 27.

Here are pix from the big night out last night. The very first one is of the YiY crew singing happy birthday to Philippe via cell phone at Laurel’s. Happy Birthday, Philippe! The rest is Ruth, Drew, & co’s performance.

I’ve left in most every image that halfway turned out ~ even if blurry, grainy, or out of focus ~ in case it happened to pick up a moment you liked. You should be able to do “save as” on any image you want. If you’d like a whole lot of ‘em, lemme know and I can burn them to CD or email them to you. Apologies in advance for the pix not evenly representing everyone who was there.
